Service Study and Redesign Solutions for a
Handloom Retail Store

Background

6 Yards is a speciality handloom store, with a mission to celebrate and spread awareness about Indian Handloom Textiles. They operate their service out of a single 2 storey building in Vijayawada.

Through the course of this project, we studied this business as a service and came up with design proposals that could help the service better appeal to their target customers.

Brand Story written for 6 yards

Our tale begins in the bustling markets of india, where the magic of handlooms has been practices for generations. 6 yards was born out of a deep love for these age-old textile practices, an admiration for the artisans who dedicate their lives to the craft, and a belief in making their work accessible to all.

But we’re not just about textiles; we’re about stories too. Our store is a sanctuary of narratives, and with each piece you’ll witness the stories of the artisans who pour their hearts into every creation.

Affordability is at the core of our philosophy. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to embrace the elegance of Indian handlooms. We work closely with artisans, cutting out unnecessary middlemen to ensure that our customers get the best quality at fair prices.

Our Vision is simple: to make indian handlooms an integral part of your everyday life. From the exquisite sarees that drape you in elegance to the cozy blankets that keep you warm, 6 yards brings India’s vibrant textile treasures to your home.
